Express Yourself... love's Question

Remember Madonna's 1989 Express yourself started with these words:
"Don't go for second best baby Put your love to the test You know, you know, you've got to Make him express how he feels And maybe then you'll know your love is real?"

What does it mean? I think it's about Testing love, not proving it. I woke this Morning with this song in my head. I have no idea as to why, it was just there. As I hummed the chours I got to thinking about the words. We have all tested Love's endurance, doing crazy things to see how much He/She really loves you. That's cool; but what about friendship? Why aren't friendships tested? I think it should be, I have done a lot of house cleaning lately: Cleaning, re-shelving, throwing out the trash, sorta speak. lol I thought that I had to have "bad people" in my life, ya' know make you stronger, to be able to fight off negativity. I thought that even though some people aren't as positive or friendly they shouldn't be denied my friendship. By-the-way which is Awesome!!! As a friend I rock out loud and on propose. Not being cocky, just stating the facts..

Yes, friendships needs to be a two-way street. I'm learning this now at 33, hey I'm not slow just slow learning (hehehe) Some bad deals have me changing it up. So I have started to put people in Categories: Party People; Benefits Bleeders; and My Peeps!

The Party People are just that we kickit, talk shit, get it crackin' these people no nothing about me. Not the real me, I never tell them anything that they can use against me, and they will. They are great to party with but not to know.

Benefits Bleeder they're not "bad Poeple"it's just that nothing goes right for them, they suck you dry if you let them. They have been soo beat down by others that they want you to be in the mud with them. They are soo negative and lifeless. They refuse to take the bad things and make them stronger. I just offer an ear a shoulder to cry on. But this can be so draining so I only talk to them once a month. lol

lastly My Peeps! These are my real friends, people I've been to Hell and back with. These people are full of encouraging words and that try to build you up. That adds something to your life not take away.

I didn't mean for this to be so long but it is.. So maybe it's time to look into your life and do some Friendship testing ang make up some Categories of your own.....
